Walk Away Cystic Fibrosis
In 2012, the Anthony J. Fulginiti chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (AJF-PRSSA) at Rowan University lost member Colette Bleistine. Colette suffered from Cystic Fibrosis, a progressive, genetic disease that attributes to lung infections and limits the ability to breath. She was a member of Rowan PRSSA and Delta Phi Epsilon sorority.
Each year, AJF-PRSSA hosts its annual CF event in her memory to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Research. In 2021, our chapter held the first Walk Away Cystic Fibrosis to invite student participants to walk for a good cause. As PRSSA President, I oversaw the event direction and worked directly with our Events Chair to organize this fundraiser.
Walk Away Cystic Fibrosis raised $700 for Cystic Fibrosis Research.
